On the other hand, the Tomahawk Steak is a crowd-favorite for those looking to go big - juicy, flavorful, and cooked just the way you want it.
Not in the mood for red meat? You’re still covered. The Aussie Fish and Chips delivers that crispy, golden exterior and flaky fish interior that makes every bite worth it. Of course, no good meal is complete without a drink, and this is where Roo’s Leap really shines. They’ve got a great wine list, craft beers, cocktails that hit the mark, and a coffee and tea selection that’s perfect for any time of day. Whether you're there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the bar options are top-tier. Try their Belgian Chocolate Brownie paired with a hot fudge coffee cocktail - it's dessert and a drink in one, and yes, it's just as decadent as it sounds.
This isn’t just a restaurant - it’s an experience. The ambiance is laid-back, perfect for groups or a casual date night, and the friendly staff bring that easy-going Aussie charm to the Scottish coast. The kitchen stays open late, making it a go-to spot for late-night food runs that actually taste good, not just convenient.
Another thing to appreciate about Roo’s Leap Montrose Ltd. is that they’ve got takeaway options if you’re not in the mood to dine in. While they don’t offer delivery, grabbing something to-go for a picnic by the coast is never a bad idea - especially when the weather plays nice.

Very tasty food, with friendly service. I loved it. The food was a nice fusion of spices (not too hot), but kept the tastebuds tingling. All of the staff, quite young were incredibly friendly, professional and slick. A credit to the team. Good vegetarian options as well. I'd certainly return or recommend.
Great Australian theme gives an amazing atmosphere! I ordered the Katsu Chicken Curry which was £24 but delicious! It came with pickled vegetables, coconut rice and pita bread. For dessert I had the Belgian chocolate brownie which was a very good size and was also delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great food. Very large portions. Fantastic service.
Went to Roo's the evening before heading home after a short break and wow! It didn't disappoint. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere was great and service was fantastic. Timing inbetween courses was really good, didn't feel rushed at all. The food quality was pure perfection. All 3 of us had clean plates with the exception of a few chips or a bit of burger bun. Highly recommend
Nice restaurant in Montrose. When visiting family here, we decided to have a meal here. Is very nice place. Plenty of stairs to get up yo the restaurant, I don't believe I saw a lift so it's not accessible for some. The theming was consistent throughout of being down under. Menu had a great selection and something for everyone. I would say the prices are slightly on the higher side. However they goof quality was pretty decent. The chicken with mushroom pasta. Was a bit too 'mushroomy'. I would come back here again.
